Term 1, 2017 - Welcome to a new year!

This year is shaping up to be a great one. The Victorian Curriculum will be fully adopted and in use by all Victorian schools, which means that you have to be 'current'. So, do your homework, jump online and find out what changes have been implemented. Any independent research that you do, will give you a 'point of difference' when going for a CRT position.

Now is a good time to do some achievable 'goal-setting'. Look at what you will be able to take to any teaching position: passion, experience, talent and commitment. Make sure that you let schools know what you have to offer.

Have a great year!

Term 4, 2016 - Your 'Wish List'

It is time to look around you and decide what is on your "Wish List" for this final term. Now is your opportunity to show people the person you truly are.

If you have teaching commitments for this term, then give everything that you do 100%. If you do not have any CRT commitments, then consider doing voluntary work in places where you will be needed and appreciated.

Enjoy yourself, surround yourself with people who value 'you', and start thinking about what you could put into place in preparation for next year.

Have fun!

Term 3, 2016 - Look after yourself and your peers!
It is that time of the year when we have to be mindful of our own health and sense of well-being. As educators, we cannot look after our students, if we cannot look after ourselves.

Remember that balance in our lives can only be achieved when we keep everything in perspective. Enjoy the new term ahead.

Term 2 - 2016

Welcome to Term 2! This is another opportunity to "Make a Difference" in the world of Education. Ask yourself, "What am I prepared to do this term that I have not done before? Go out of my comfort zone; volunteer at my local library; study!! The world is my oyster."

Anything that you truly want to do, can be done. Remember to share your passions and talents (no matter how small they are to you).

Make the most of this term.

2016 Theme - "Refresh" Yourself!

Your personal theme for 2016 should be to press F5 and 'refresh' yourself. Update your CV, dress to impress and re-visit schools where you would like to get work. (Remember, although you may have done a face-to-face with key personnel in different schools last year or earlier, it is worth  reminding them that you are willing and able to do CRT work.)

Start the new year with: enthusiasm, acceptance of any new challenges, and a positive attitude.

Welcome to 2016!

The new year has started extremely well and promises to be an exciting, challenging and uplifting year; it will be what you make it.

Remember, to create achievable goals for yourself and follow them through. At times you may lose sight of what direction you want to take; be clear in your mind about your choices, and stick by them. Share your talents and your passions, and excel at whatever you do.

Enjoy the excitement of the days, weeks and months ahead, and explore your many and varied strengths.

Have a brilliant year!

Term 3 and Term 4, 2015

As educators, we strive for the best! We want our knowledge and skills to bring about personal satisfaction in knowing that what we deliver, on a daily basis, is as good as we can make it. Our job is to ensure that every classroom in which we step, is 'inclusive'. To that end, we must remember the following 'Professional Standards for Teachers":

1.5 Differentiate teaching to meet the specific learning needs of students across the full range of abilities

1.6 Strategies to support full participation of students with disability

4.1 Support student participation

When we accept the weighty responsibility of playing a part in the overall education plan for children and young people, we accept the challenge associated with it.

Make Term 4 an opportunity for you to deliver your 'personal best' in the educational environment. Set your realistic, teaching goals and learning intentions with enthusiasm and determination, and enjoy the 'ripple effect'.
